Let people see life beyond the prospectus.

Education PR helps schools explain their character, achievements and community contribution through clear, accurate stories. Purple Sheep PR supports school communications with a journalist’s eye and care for the people involved.

Some of your best stories happen on an ordinary school day, when a pupil finds confidence or a project brings different generations together. We can help your community understand why those moments matter.

I’ll help you spot those moments and explain their significance, with stories that reflect your school’s character and respect the people involved.

My experience founding The Good News Post and supporting young storytellers informs this work. I’m interested in helping school communities recognise their own good news, as well as share it.

How I can help.

01

Find your school’s stories

Work with your team to recognise stories that matter to families, local media and the wider community.

02

Communicate with care

Shape clear, accessible messages and agree a review process with your school before material is shared.

03

Build community understanding

Give your partnerships and pupil opportunities a clear story, with appropriate permissions and safeguarding checks led by your school.

What this looks like
in practice.

Real schools. Real stories. Real coverage.

An everyday story on the evening news

At Clevedon School, a plan to give up to 400 computers to pupils learning at home became an ITV News report in January 2021. Practical help for families was the story, and it showed people the character of the school. Clevedon has worked with The Purple Sheep since 2016.

From local stories to Downing Street

A relationship with Priory School that began in 2008 grew from local coverage into national exposure in The Daily Telegraph, international coverage with CBS News in New York and three interviews with the Prime Minister for young reporters.

The right visitor at the right time

Chilton Trinity School secured regular positive coverage, including front-page stories, and a visit from Sir Ranulph Fiennes. He went on to become the school’s honorary lifetime Patron.

Your school stays in control

Your school leads on safeguarding, consent and any restrictions on identifying pupils. We agree a named contact, a simple way to share potential stories and who checks names, quotes and photographs before anything is shared. Media interest is never guaranteed.

How working together
works.

01

A defined project

A single story, launch, event or campaign, with a clear brief, scope and fee agreed before work starts.

02

Ongoing support

A regular rhythm of story-finding, press material and media relations for organisations with a steady flow of news.

03

No surprises

You’ll know what’s included, who approves what and how we’ll judge progress. Editorial coverage is never guaranteed.

PR + digital marketing

Get noticed.
Then get found.

PR builds your reputation out in the world: press coverage, awards and third-party recognition that give people a reason to trust you. Digital marketing makes the most of what you already have, so the people who hear about you can find you and get in touch.

They work best together. If you’d like a joined-up approach, I work with my partner agency, JAE Digital. Jack and I will build one bespoke strategy with you, covering PR and digital marketing, with each of us doing what we do best.

A few things
you might be wondering.

Your school’s safeguarding and consent requirements come first. We’ll agree who reviews each story and what permissions are needed before any pupil’s words, name or image are shared.

Yes. We can agree where I can be most useful, whether that’s finding story angles, preparing material or supporting media relations.

You can enquire about a talk alongside your PR work. We’ll discuss the audience, subject and format so the session is appropriate for your setting.

No. It can support your existing communications by helping you recognise useful story angles and prepare clear material. We’ll discuss what your team already produces and where outside support would add value, avoiding duplication.

Yes, we can discuss a defined brief around an upcoming date. Get in touch while the plans are taking shape so there is time to check the story, obtain any permissions and consider relevant media deadlines. Coverage on a particular date cannot be promised.

Send a short outline of your school or organisation, the support you need and any key dates. Let me know who manages communications and approvals. We’ll discuss a practical scope and agree the fee before the work begins.
